About 150 laminated plies of bleached obeche veneer yielded the background for this piece. Without grain and figure to deal with the uniform nature of this lamination made it a delight to work with, more pieces followed. It closely resembles the whiteness of holly. It's also rather dense and weighs almost four ounces, hefty compared to my other pieces.
