I've been playing with this sort of mosaic work for awhile, applied mostly to jewelry pieces like these. They usually end up at around 1,000 individual facets per square inch. If I'd done better in calculus I could probably figure out how many are in this little piece but I estimate around 22,000. There are four in this edition, all about the same dimensions.
